Altiplano watch, 24 mm. 18K pink-gold case set with 48 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 0.4 ct). Turquoise dial. Manufacture Piaget 690P quartz movement. Numbered edition.
In 1964, Piaget went beyond the limits of what was possible by pushing mechanical performance and the watchmaker's art to the extremes of miniaturisation. With the recent availability of new ultra-thin movements, the 9P and 12P, the Manufacture launches what will remain one of its greatest creative traditions: hard stone dials. The innovative know-how, emblematic of Piaget, perpetuated today in its Altiplano collection, proving that technique and sophistication, however great they might be, can be comfortably housed in a small space. A numbered edition, available exclusively in the network of Piaget boutiques, each watch highlights the uniqueness of a type of stone. Set off with a row of diamonds, this 24 mm diameter watch combines pink gold and turquoise. Used in jewellery for several thousand years, in particular by the Egyptians, turquoise is said to be a talisman of protection and good fortune. Its blue, evoking both the sky and water, is also one of the most highly valued colours in the world of fashion.
